When you sign up for Shine, there is already a standard chart of accounts, but you can also easily create your own accounts.
Keep in mind that the bookkeeping can only help you with accounting on our standard chart of accounts. To post to your accounts, you must keep track of VAT rules, etc. yourself.
Account creation and set up
Go to Settings (the cogwheel)
Select Organization at the top (there are both Profile and Organization options)
Select Accounting
Select Edit chart of accounts at the bottom of the page
On the next window, click on Create account (at the top right corner)
Select the correct information:
Account type
Account number
Account name
And, if necessary, write a description, VAT rate and a Public Account name
In the following example, we assume that a new sales account is to be created:
The account type the right account for sales
The account number must be within the group
The account name must be appropriate for your account. In this case, we write VAT-free sales
If you are creating a bank account:
Choose the account type Liquid Assets
The account number must be within the group
Write a description
Then, click on Save account
